Reviews

Keep an eye out for synopsis and reviews of all the great books I've read.  Until then, check out a few of my picks in the Gallery

I am in love with this book. Tess is just such a unique and funny character with all her fun facts. Cole and his somewhat OCD tendencies were something you don’t see a ton in romantic comedies but it gave him another dimension . Such a great read.

This is such an amazing book. Jewel took on a character (Dorothy) who we don’t see all that often and made us fall in love with her. Her hero Eli was also fantastic.

Absolutely loved Blaze and Charms story. They are both such unique characters and to see them go from enemies to loves were awesome

Truly loved this new installment,Making Up, within the Shacking Up world. Cosy and Griffin were such interesting characters and a joy to read

Such an amazing book. I truly think this is my favorite book of this series ( it can be read as a stand alone). Gabby has had my heart since she was first mentioned and Zeke is tough and strong yet so sweet.

Making Up_ebook.jpg

Once again Kandi makes me fall in love and experience all the passion she has for her characters. Ruby and Noah are such great characters and this story was everything I hoped it could be

Paige and Logan’s story was a great. I wished it wouldn’t end. By far one of my favorite books by Karla.

The Ex Effect is the 2nd book in a great series of footballers and those that love them. This can be read as a standalone. Ava and Matthew's story is sweet and fun. While its not a true second chance romance its unique in kind of feeling that way. I loved this story!

Loved this book. Z is so intense and Sugar just wants to be strong for her heart to not be broken again.

I’ve been waiting for Gareths story since the start of the Harris brothers series. The leader of the pack he has always been somewhat of a mystery to us. We get a glimps into his world in Surrender. I have a heavy book hangover from part one of this 2 part book and am waiting not so patiently for the end of this great story and series.

Who couldn't love the two main characters Zoe and Caleb. The start of their story is surrounded by super hero talk. That's my kind of talk.
We met both of them in Lets Get Textual. Zoe was the quirky roommate and BFF while Caleb was the ex boyfriend who was always the good guy. Im glad that he finally found his happy in this story.

I've loved Luca since we first met him in Finding Mr Wrong. I couldn't wait for him to get his own story and the ladies did not disappoint. Luca, Sabrina and Mikey make this great time that you can't help but love. It had all the emotions I've come to love from Joanne and A.M.
They keep bringing it with each new book. Excited for the next one.

Love Lit Chick's 2017 Favorite Books List

Branch and Layla have a great story here in Lucky Number Eleven by Adriana Locke. Mr. Best is a cocky sob and really has no intrest in being tied down. Layla is a sweet blogger who just wants to stear clear of any athletes, especially after her last failed relationship. Eventhough neither of them think its a good idea...should they get together or not? Read and find out just how crazy their story can get.

Of course I love everything that Carrie writes. This book was no different. I really fell in love with Samantha and Jake. Their story is so cute and yet passionate. There were some cute side characters in the book too. Overall a great read.

This book is one of my few 5 star reads from this year. I've been waiting for Spiders book since Brairwood. Getting his own book was so exciting. He is just a brooding brit and his love for Rose is beautiful. Ilsa did an amazing job on these two. It sent out all the feels you are used to from Ilsa and then some. Please check it out!

Kandi knows how to hit me in the feels every time. I thought ALLTW was the killer but On The Way To You just slayed me. Like hard core.

** Here is my list of my favorite books I read in 2017. Most of these books came out in 2017 but a few of them are a little older but I finally read this year.

Ruck Me

By Rebecca Norinne

I loved this second installment of the Dublin Rugby series. Aoife and Eoin have been friends forever and now they are trying to grow that friendship into something more. I love their journey in trying to make that happen. Rebecca does a great job of making you feel right at home in Ireland.

Please check it out. You can also check out the first book called Trying Sophie which is Aoife's brothers story.

Punk 57

Punk 57 was an intense book that I loved. I didnt love it equally throughout the book though. There were times I was frustrated, upset, confused and scared. But then I realized that was what made this book so amazing. There were some twists and turns I didnt see coming and could appreciate.

They were perfect for eachother, till they met.

Please go check out this great read!

Paper Princess

From the amazing minds of Jen Frederick and Elle Kennedy comes Paper Princess. I have to say that this has been one of the best books ive read in a very very long time. It was just so raw and real and a million other words that i cant even put into place.

If you read any book this month, please pick this one up. You will thank me later!

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me

I had originally started reading this book about 6 months ago and just couldn't get into it. Not that it was a bad book by any means, it was just a little slow moving for my taste.

I'm not sure what made me go back and give it another go but i'm glad that i did. Yes its a very long book and i am usually not one for anything over 350 pages but this one was worth it.

Aiden is the NFO's top defensive player. His whole life is football. He doesn't have time for anything else, even his assistant Van. That is until she leaves and he wants something from her.

Aiden grew on me throughout the book just like Van did on him. There were periods of time that I really thought Van was just wasting her time by giving any bit of her heart over to him. In the end i'm glad that she did as they were just what the other needed.

Twisted Palace

Twisted Palace is the last book in the Royals Series. Now I will always love Paper Princess the best but this one comes in as a close second( Sorry Broken Prince). We all are trying to figure out who set Reed up for murder and anyone is on the short list.

Im glad that the relationship between Reed and Ella stays strong throughout this whole book.

Im sad to see their story come to an end but Erin Watt did say that we can probably expect a book for Easton. That makes me excited!

Jockblocked( Gridiron #2)

By Jen Frederick

I truly had a difficult time trying to decide if I loved Jockblocked as much as I loved Sacked. Knox and Matty are very different people but I loved them both in very different ways. In the end I just couldnt choose. Darn I guess ill just have to love on both of them.

I liked that Ace got to be a larger part of this book in the role he plays with Lucy. Granted he was a dick most of the time, in the end he kind of redeamed himself.

Hopefully the there will be a third installment. Im not sure who I want a story on more, Ace, Hammer or Masters twin brother?

Cant I have all 3?? A girl can dream.

Last Call ( Bad Habits #3)

By Staci Hart

Check out the final installment of the Bad Habits series with Last Call. We have gotten a insight into Rose and Patrick(aka Tricky...I love that nickname) throughout the past two installments, but now we finally get the real deal.

I'm really glad we finally got into the heads of both Rose and Tricky to better understand some of their actions in the previous books.

While the book did start off a little slow for me( maybe I was just to excited and wanted to drive right in), overall it was a good end to a great series.

Excited to see what Staci has in store for us next.

Some Sort of Love

A Happy, Crazy, Love Novel By Melanie Harlow

I didnt think that I could love Melanie Harlow any more then I did after reading Some Sort of Crazy. I also didnt think she could create a character I would love more then Miles, but she did.

Some Sort of Love follows the oldest Nixon sister in her quest to not become an old maid. Enter Levi, a fling from college, who she literally runs into at Skylar's wedding. I mean come on, how hot is the name Levi. And he doesnt disappoint with his dirty mouth and actions that were even more dirty.

Things arent easy for the couple. This book hits you right in the feels. I was legit crying( trying so hard to hold it in and not look crazy) in Walgreens while waiting for my perscription.

I think Melanie did a great job of  giving us all everything we wanted from the Nixon sisters at the end of this book. Im sad to see them go but was so glad I was able to be part of the ride.

The Mother Road

Pucked Over

I was so lucky to be able to get a ARC of Pucked Over by Helena Hunting. As many of you know Pucked is one of my all time favorite books and I harbor a large writing crush on Helena( not being creepy I swear, I just really connect with her style of writing). But I digress.

I have to be totally honest and say I was slightly worried about a story involving Lilly. I didnt like her much in Pucked Up and for some reason I kept picturing her looking like the character Lilly played by the always strange Heather Matarazzo in The Princess Diaries. Needless to say that I was pleasently surprised that I fell in love with both Lilly and Randy. She was actually a really loveable and funny character in this book. Now no one will beat my kindred soul of Violet, but I like Lilly more then I care for Sunny.

Now Randy was just the man candy sandwich I had been waiting for.

The beard, the hair, and the tattoos makes the trifecta of a hottie. I dont think there is anything else that needs to be said about that.

What I was the most happy with was that I got more time with some of the other characters. Violet, Alex, Buck and even Sunny. I can't wait till Forever Pucked when we will get a great big dose of all of them and hopefully a few proposals, in addition to the Waters Wedding.

The Mother Road by Meghan Quinn is probably one of the most hilarious books I have read in a long time.  She had me cracking up from the first page. My first night reading, i laughed so loud I woke my daughter up. Also, I may have been reading some of it while hiding out in the bathroom at work( dont worry I wasnt going to the bathroom) and busted out laughing. The other person in the stall probably thought I was crazy.

Marley, along with her dad and brother, take one last road trip in their 1980's RV to honor their late mother. Add along her brother best friend and Best Man in his upcoming wedding ( this is his "bachelor party" trip lol) and you have a non stop laugh from start to finish.

I wish that my family played all the games they did on their trip. Though some of the things that went on in that RV is best left to the fictional characters haha.

This was my first read by Meghan Quinn and I only have great things to say. Im excited to read all of her other stuff. If they are half as good as this book, im in for a treat.

What I'm Gonna Read This Week

Each Week I plan on putting together a small list of the books that I plan on reading the crap out of :)

I may not review each of the books I list but OCD person living inside of me feels the need to make this list anyway.

Two Outta Three- S. Briones Lim

My ARC of Pucked Over- Helena Hunting

The Year of Falling In Love- Jessica Sorensen

Let's Catch Another Review

Its time to catch up with another review.

Us Wisconsin girls have to stick together! So my next review is Roomies by Lindy Zart, my Wisconsin home girl. While a lot of books I read take place in super cool locals like New York and LA, there is something neat about reading about your home state. Even the book im writing has part of it taking place in my home city of Milwaukee.

Now that ive got my rambling out of my system, its time for the review.

I had this book on my wish list for a long time and for some reason I hadnt gotten to it. I'm glad that I finally remembered that I had it cause I really enjoyed it. Compaired to some other things ive read recently, it was a lighter read which I enjoyed.

Kennedy our main character is a spitfire of sarcasam which I love. She really reminded me of my self wiht some of her one liners. She brought a new dimension to the quintessential female lead that I havent seen in many books recently.

Kennedy is in love with her roomate Graham, who in her eyes, doesnt look at her like anything more then just a roomate.

It takes Graham's hot brother Blake stopping into town for a visit to light the fire of competition under Grahams ass. Now he may just be to late for Kennedy's love and only has himself to blame.

I would have liked to see just a little more development of the guy characters, but in the end the story really was more about Kennedy and I get that.

It was a nice quick, light read which I think people will enjoy.

First Review of 2016

My first book of 2016 was Ashley Claudy's Hustle.

My love of sports romance books took over and thats why this book won out as my first read of the year.

Overall I was pretty happy with my choice.

Andrew Fayden is the football king of campus. When freshman Brook has a run in with him and has no idea who he is, its refreshing to Drew.

The more he trys to win her over, the more she trys to keep away. Not because he isnt the hottiest piece of ass she's ever seen, but because of her past. She's run away from her history in hopes to start new, and Drew screams to much of the things she's trying to get away from.

Throw in a crazy on-again, off-again girlfriend, teammates hiding deadly secrets, and " friends" you just shouldn't trust and you got one old hot mess of awesome.

I am not a fan of super intense/heartbreaking books or ones that make me ugly cry. This book did border on falling into the intense arena, and a few times I debated putting it down and swapping for a lighter read. In the end im glad that I pushed through as it really was a beautiful read.

Pucked by Helen Hunting

My first review is going to be one of my favorite books of this year... Pucked!

If you like hockey, hot guys and a hilarious girl with a foul mouth, then this is the book for you. I generally don't re read many books, but I have already gone back to this one three times.

Violet is just your average sports accountant, twenty something, with a big chip on her shoulder against hockey players. She has been wronged by them before, and one of the leauges biggest playboys just happens to be her step brother. She knows just what to stay away from. When her step brother gets traded to their home team following scandle, Vi is forced to attend his games and spend time with his new team, knowing full well it only means trouble, especially when spending what she thought was a one night stand with the teams hottie turns into something more.

Alex is the  Blackhawks " It" guy. An amazing player both on and off the ice, Alex seems to have it all. When his one night with Vi makes him want something more, he has to prove to her that he isnt the playboy the media paints him to be. Earning her heart may be the hardest thing he has ever done.

I love this book so much for so many different reasons. Violet is hilarious. Some of the things that come out of her mouth are just vulgar but in a totally funny, not nasty way. She trys so hard to keep up the image that she hates hockey players, but Alex penetrates( in more ways then one) her wall and trys to win her over. When a guy sends you a Victora's Secret Gift Card addressed to your boobs, it must mean true love.  Alex needs to prove to Violet that she isnt just a part of his off ice game. For someone who has a supposed sex trist named " The Walters Hat Trick", he has a lot  to prove.

Readers will enjoy the funny banter between all characters within the story. Romance junkies will love the heat between Alex and Vi. And hockey lovers will like the behind the seens view into the life of hockey hotties.

Helen Hunting does an amazing job with this story. A vast improvement on some of her eariler work. I can't wait to see what she comes out with next!

Enjoy!!!!
